Some people you have to go find. A father, a son, and the long road back home.
The Prodigal Maguire is a modern retelling of Luke 15 — the parable of the son who left, squandered everything, and could not find his way back on his own. In our story, that son is a Maguire. And some people, as the tagline says, you have to go find.
A quiet man sits on a Carolina porch at sunset, reading the same worn Bible he has read every evening for twenty years, waiting on a boy who never writes. A thousand miles away in the rain-slick alleys of a city he never meant to end up in, that boy sits with his back against a brick wall, looking up at a streetlight that could be the stars if you squinted hard enough. Between them is every mile the Father has to cover — and every mile the son has to find the courage to let him.
The Prodigal Maguire is a story about the kind of love that does not stay on the porch. It is in development as a Moonless Media & Entertainment and Romans VIII Films co-production, written by Wayne D Burdette Jr from an original story by Keenan Michaels.
